A Place of Solace
A Safe Place for Transformation
A Place of Solace was born from a deep, personal calling to create what I knew was missing: safe, healing spaces where Black women, marginalized communities, and all people could feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.
As a Black woman and Wilmington, NC native, I witnessed firsthand the emotional burdens carried in silence, the unspoken traumas, and the overwhelming lack of accessible, culturally responsive care. I knew we needed more spaces that honored our full humanity. I knew we deserved more than what was offered. We deserved solace.

With that, A Place of Solace was intentionally created to center the needs of Black women and other historically overlooked voices, while also honoring the rich diversity and interconnectedness of our community as a whole. At its core, A Place of Solace is about breaking the silence and dismantling the stigma surrounding mental health, especially in communities where seeking help has too often been a source of shame or misunderstanding.

This work is both sacred and personal. I’ve sat in rooms where our stories weren’t understood. I’ve watched people carry the weight of trauma alone because therapy felt out of reach—or worse, not meant for us. A Place of Solace was born from the belief that this healing is a right, not a privilege for some, and that everyone deserves access to therapy that feels affirming, culturally responsive, and rooted in love.
And we do it all with intention, mindfulness, and love.

A Compassionate Guide through Change
I am Daniela Williams with A Place of Solace. As a Licensed Mental Health Service Provider based in Wilmington, NC. I am here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I truly care about my clients’ well-being and center my services around specific client needs.

Typically, I work with older adolescents, young adults, and women, in individual, and couple sessions using an integrative approach with a psychodynamic framework. I use several perspectives with supportive tools from evidenced-based modalities that include mindfulness-based practices.

While I usually assist with a variety of mental health issues, areas of interest include but are not limited to infertility, depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, and anxiety. Parent coaching, pre-marital, and marital therapy, and group counseling can be provided as needed. Additionally, as a Black therapist, I have an innate understanding of complex issues experienced by many minorities and BIPOC. I seek to provide a safe space to explore these experiences.
